Description
Trojan.DownLoad.36339 is a program that displays a message claiming that your computer is infected by a Trojan, and invites you to download anti-spyware.
If downloaded the program may install adware on your computer or open a backdoor allowing remote attackers access to your files in order to steal personal information.
The Trojan may be downloaded when you respond to a fake security warning displayed when you visit a website, or it may be installed as part of a software download such as a free codec pack.
Prevention
To avoid Trojan.DownLoad.36339 and similar malware in future:
- Never download and install software from sites you aren't sure of (including file sharing networks.)
- Use a good anti-virus that detects Trojans as well as viruses, such as Kaspersky AntiVirus or Dr.Web anti-virus.
