A landmark in advertising?

27 August 2008 - 15:18

Tech-Pro.net has just signed up as an AdLandmark publisher. We're always interested in new ways to earn money from our sites, and this seems like a good one. AdLandmark is a promotion service for software (shareware) authors. What's nice about it, from the author's point of view, is that you only pay for the ad if the customer actually downloads a trial version of the software. With traditional PPC ads if they click, you pay, even if they only stay a few seconds on your site.

It remains to be seen how profitable this program is for Tech-Pro.net as a publisher. However, the ads look good, you get a great choice of different sizes and formats, and I think that anything which gets quality products on the site is good - the fact that we can make a bit of money from it is a bonus.

Google AdSense remains a major revenue earner for us, but AdSense seems increasingly to be used by the Internet lowlife who promote spyware and spread malware. It's hard to cut off a good source of income, even if it is getting a bad reputation, but if we could find an equally profitable alternative, we would.
